USDP Mission

To expand enrollment of small/minority businesses on University contracts, by facilitating the opportunity for said business to provide valuable, quality, timely goods and services, while building mutually beneficial, respectful, lasting business relationships with the University Community.

USDP Policy Statement

The University of  Connecticut is committed to providing a professionally inclusive environment within which small/minority businesses are encouraged to participate in the procurement experience, as they are afforded equal access to the bid process that transfers goods and services to the campus communities.

The University of Connecticut acknowledges that by ensuring that small/minority businesses are provided a fair and equitable opportunity to bid on products procured by the University, a valuable exchange can occur whereby small/minority businesses are encouraged to offer quality goods and services, and University departments are provided a more widely diverse group of business enterprises from which to choose, receiving more competitive pricing, and contributing to the long-term sustainability of  those same small/minority businesses.
